Allah's Name: As-Salaam

 As-Salaam

The ultimate Provider of Peace | The Embodiment of Peace | The Source of Peace | The One Free from All Imperfections | The Giver of Safety

As-Salam is the source of all peace and security. He is free from any harm. From Him comes peace (Salaam), Paradise is called " Dar-us-salaam" (the Abode of Peace) because it is the place of perfect peace - free from fear, suffering, and death.

It appears in the Quran one time, in Surah Al Hashr 59:23

The ROOT of the word is س ل  م  - is of peace, safety, and submission.

* Islam - muslim - Salaam - Taseleem

* Dar-us-salaam

The Prophet ﷺ, after Salah used to say:

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
🗣️Allāhumma antas-salāmu wa minkas-salām, tabārakta yā dhal-jalāli wal-ikrām
Why after Salah specifically? Because Salah is - struggle - focus - humility - worship
And after reconnecting with Allah through prayers, the soul receives Salaam - inner settling.
Also, the Prophet ﷺ said, " Spread Salaam among yourselves" (Sahih Muslim) - because the believer is meant to carry peace, safety, and emotional security.
The connection between Islam and Peace: Islam is not only 'submission'. A deeper meaning -> Submission to Allah leads to peace. When the soul stops fighting Allah's decree ... Peace enters your heart and soul.
When to use As-Salaam in Dua:

🌿 When anxious or emotionally overwhelmed

يا سلام، أنزل السلام على قلبي
O As-Salām, send peace upon my heart.

🌿 During conflict or family problems:

يا سلام، أصلح بيننا
O Source of Peace, bring peace between us.

🌿 When afraid

يا سلام، سلمني من الشر
O As-Salām, keep me safe from evil.

🌿 When seeking inner stability

This Name is powerful for:

  • overthinking
  • emotional turbulence
  • fear of future
  • grief

Because true salām is not the absence of problems. It is: calmness with Allah despite problems.

Dua:

" Ya Salaam, grant me peace in my heart and in my life. Protect me from all evil and guide me to the Abode of Peace (Dar-us-salaam)

" Ya Salaam, guide us to patience and inner peace, and let us remember you more so that we may find peace."

Affirmations:

* I live my life in peace with myself, others, and all of Allah's creations.

* Abu Hurairah said that the Prophet ﷺ said: " The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe, and the believer is the one from whom the people's lives and wealth are safe".
