Tawakkul

An extract from the Book Tawakkul by Sakina Express (I highly recommend this book)

Making Tawakkul a Lifelong Practice

For many believers, tawakkul begins as a refuge - something we reach for when life feels overwhelming, when our plans collapse, or when anxiety refuses to rest. But tawakkul's true purpose is not to be a temporary shelter, it is meant to become the foundation of life itself.

To live with tawakkul means to weave a trust into every breath - not only when things fall apart but also when they go well. It is to trust Allah - not only when you are desperate for an outcome but when you already have what you wanted. It is to remember that peace does not come after the test ends but during it.

The Arabic phrase حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيل (transliterated as Hasbi Allah wa ni'mal wakeel) directly translates to: "Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs."

It is one of the most profound and widely recited supplications (dua / dhikr) in Islam, representing ultimate reliance (tawakkul) on God.

May Allah give us the strength and the guidance to seek Him and depend on only Him, always. He is truly sufficient for us.
