It was narrated that Abu Wa'il said:

"Abdullah said: 'There are three (traits), whoever has them is a hypocrite: When he speaks, he lies; when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust; and when he makes a promise, he breaks it. Whoever has one of these (traits) then a trait of hypocrisy has not ceased in him, until he leaves it.'" (Sahih Mawquf)

Allâhumma tahhir qalbî mina-n-nifâqi, wa'amalî mina-r-riyâ'i, walisânî mina-l-kadibi, wa'aynî mina-l-hiyânati, fa'innaka ta'lamu hâ'inata-l-'a'yuni wamâ tuhfi-s-sudûr.

"O Allah, purify my heart from hypocrisy, my actions from showing off, my tongue from lies, and my eyes from treachery. For indeed You know the treachery of the eyes and what the hearts conceal".
