Al Malik - The King, The Sovereign Lord, the One with complete Dominion
Inspired by my online community - Gratitude for Muslim Women, I have been doing a weekly study of the
names of Allah swt, and I am studying " Al Malik " today. In addition
to her amazing video, I look into a few other books to dive deeper.
I found a
few amazing things that I couldn't help not share with everyone.
When to use
this Name in Du‘a?
When you
feel overwhelmed by the injustices in the world. When you become attached to
your possessions.
Call upon
Al-Malik when:
🌿 You feel life is out of control - Because He controls outcomes. يا ملك، دبر
أمري O King, manage my
affairs.
🌿 When afraid of people in authority - Bosses, judges, governments,
difficult people.
Because:
Their authority exists under His authority. يا ملك الناس،
اكفني شرهم O
King of mankind, protect me from their harm.
🌿 When your heart is attached to dunya. This Name resets
perspective. Everything we “own” is rented furniture in a temporary hotel
called dunya, your job. Your status. Your money. Borrowed.
HE can give,
and so HE can take.
Understanding
Al-Malik creates tawakkul. Why?
Because
anxiety shrinks when you know:
- The One running the universe knows your
name.
- Nothing happens outside His kingdom.
- Not heartbreak. Not delayed marriage.
Not financial struggles. Not loneliness.
The King is
still governing. Even when you do not understand the chapter.
SubhanAllah
!! and I end with this verse from the Quran : Surah Ghafir 40:16
لمن الملك اليوم لله الواحد القهار
Li-man
Al-Mulk Al-Yawm Lillāh Al-Wāhid Al-Qahhar
To whom
belongs [all] sovereignty this Day? To Allah, the One, the Prevailing
